Cover the Earth in Pink ...

It's Earth Day, Pumpkins, or so Google tells me. Let's celebrate with some pink, shall we?

Gosh, we're getting older

Happy birthday to my precious pumpkin, Brian. He's reached the quarter-century mark! In honor of his special day, here is a quote:

Give a man a fish and he has food for a day; teach him how to fish and you can get rid of him for the entire weekend.

This is what happens when you trap two females in one room day after day ...

No, not cat fights. But Leslye and I do tend to send an abundance of emails back and forth. You should see some of our threads. But that is beside the point. Sort of.

So, today has been a rather hectic day at the office. And, to liven the mood a bit, I sent Leslye this little tidbit:

Ya know, just to make her smile because I know she is working her little buns off today. And this is what I receive in reply:

Accompanied by:

current life status:

AHHHH!!! CROPPING A BALDING-MAN'S HEAD!!! (and it's sooo shiny.

photoshop is revolting)

and my desk is hideously messy

and my tummy is having a civil war between potato-salad and instant-grits.

luckily i love old men.

messes don't really bother me.

and i'm about to go home...and sooth the civil war with some hot tea

and cinnamon-apple poptarts. :)

Ah, that just made my day!

In other news ... my plant! Literally growing right before my eyes. It's so satisfying.

April showers better freaking bring May flowers

It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of shabby chic. I know... sometimes it's a little cold. A little frilly. Too pastel, and maybe a touch unlivable? But the truth is, deep inside, I want my future home to look like this:

Or this...

I know, I know. In the end, it will probably look like this if my hypothetical future-husband has his way:

Anyway, metallic wallpaper seems like a good idea in theory, however, it's a big commitment.

Moving on.

I don't really have anything exciting to post today. It's Friday. Raining. No one has updated anything earth-shattering on Facebook. I was really productive this morning, so now work has slowed down quite a bit. However, Leslye and I did go and indulge in delicious Indian for lunch! I'm glad she's more adventurous because that's how I discover good food. Always too scared to put it on my own plate (via buffet), so I steal a forkful off of Leslye's plate. Everyone should try mutter paneer. Lots of peas. Mmmm ... peas. I love peas. And tikka masala is always delicious.

Plants are growing, but they're just taller than they were a few days ago. Still proud. Can't wait to re-pot them and give them names. Yes, I went there (well, I will go there at some point).

Bored yet? Me too. Sorry. Maybe I'll just share some pretty pictures with you.

That's all I've got. Have a good weekend!
