Warm November

Today is an absolutely beautiful day in Western Pennsylvania.

While snapping these photos, I noticed our neighbor's cat slinking around the yard.


Naturally I try and lure him into the house with my siren song.


He isn't fooled.


I need a furry, four-legged creature in my life.

I've decided to give this blog another go. A lot of things have changed in my life since my last post (marriage + move + career change), and I've also done a bit of redecorating around here. Hopefully I'll be more consistent, even if it's just me talking to myself. (It's all about having an outlet, right?)

Gosh, we're getting older

Happy birthday to my precious pumpkin, Brian. He's reached the quarter-century mark! In honor of his special day, here is a quote:

This is what happens when you trap two females in one room day after day ...

No, not cat fights. But Leslye and I do tend to send an abundance of emails back and forth. You should see some of our threads. But that is beside the point. Sort of. 

So, today has been a rather hectic day at the office. And, to liven the mood a bit, I sent Leslye this little tidbit:

In other news ... my plant! Literally growing right before my eyes. It's so satisfying.

It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of shabby chic. I know... sometimes it's a little cold. A little frilly. Too pastel, and maybe a touch unlivable? But the truth is, deep inside, I want my future home to look like this:

Anyway, metallic wallpaper seems like a good idea in theory, however, it's a big commitment. 

Moving on.

I don't really have anything exciting to post today. It's Friday. Raining. No one has updated anything earth-shattering on Facebook. I was really productive this morning, so now work has slowed down quite a bit. However, Leslye and I did go and indulge in delicious Indian for lunch! I'm glad she's more adventurous because that's how I discover good food. Always too scared to put it on my own plate (via buffet), so I steal a forkful off of Leslye's plate. Everyone should try mutter paneer. Lots of peas. Mmmm ... peas. I love peas. And tikka masala is always delicious.

Plants are growing, but they're just taller than they were a few days ago. Still proud. Can't wait to re-pot them and give them names. Yes, I went there (well, I will go there at some point).
